It is interesting, isn't it, that defacing books has become part of the conservative agenda (sort of like questioning President Obama's "naturalized" citizenship, despite a birth certificate and announcements in the local Hawaii press of his birth-- as if, a conspiracy started 47 years ago to make him electable under our very much outdated Constitution)? At any rate, if the recent reports are true, that the public option may be stripped from the health care bill, it reflects the ability of a strident minority to deface, in my opinion, public policy and majority rule. I'm a wee tipsy now (read, "very drunk," and so I apologize for leaving my ramblings on your very interesting and astute blog. And I thank you again for doing such a blog.
My sister's elementary school best friend was a pretty strict Mormon. When my sis was out with her friend and the friend's mom, the mom would regularly flip over any books, cards, etc. that featured scantily clad women.
My personal bookstore mission is to make sure my own book appears face-out. In that way, I do kinda treat bookshelves like my blog....
