Literary Chronicle

The San Francisco Chronicle reviewed "Talking to the Moon." It was terrific. It made quite some mention of the marketing of my book: it's unfortunate that it's been labeled "gay fiction."

Read up (it's the second article, so scroll down):

Dear Noel, I can't wait to read this. I have it next on my shelf. I guess I am in Alumit overload, as I just finished reading Letters to Montgomery Clift last night and had to express my thanks for this sweet, moving, incredible book. Just beautiful. I am glad to have found you.

I have a Filipino friend who I want to share this book with. He's been here for maybe 8 years or so, in school and now working here. He rarely talks about his homeland, and now I think I understand why.

I am just out of a very wonderful three-year relationship with a Thai man who was here in the US studying for an MBA. He has had to return, at least for now, to work in Thailand. We keep in touch but it's rough.

My goal is to write a fictionalized account of my relationship with him. I have had six books (nonfiction) published and the seventh is coming out in June, so it may be tough to cross over. We'll see.

I was curious as to whether any of LTMC was based on any of your experiences.

Are you coming to Atlanta anytime? I live near Outwrite books and would love to see you at a signing there. Or have I missed you already??

Well, I look forward to getting into your new book and am so happy you're getting such positive reviews for it. All the best to you!
