Literary DC

I'm in DC for a conference. I've been "monumenting" on my off time. My favorite is the Lincoln Memorial. Alot of greating writing is associated with this memorial. From "Four score and seven years ago" to "I have a dream."

Literary Quiz: He is the only US President who hasn't published a book by the time he took office. Who is he?

Hmm, Andrew Jackson? That's a wild guess, but I do know they discovered a bunch of bullets in his body after he died. So he wasn't really a sit-at-a-desk-and-type kind of guy.

I'm actually surprised it's only one, but I'll guess good ol' George W. I really can't imgaine him writing anything worth publishing (well, anything serious anyway).

You mean there's ONLY one president who didn't publish a book by the time he became president? Wow, this is a good piece of trivia!!!

I'd go with Rich and saw "W" myself- I can't imagine him writing a book and even more so conceptualizing one!

I'm surprised there's only one also. I'm suspecting a joke coming on...

ANSWER: A few years ago, a thinktank that measures IQ tried to measure George Dubya. One of the ways they do that is by studying his published work. They discovered that he was the only US president to take office without having a book published. This earned George Dubya the reputation of being our country's dumbest presidents.
